The period running up to New Year’s Eve is always busy and action-packed for the Events Team. This year was no exception as, barely with time to draw breath from the Christmas parties, the team launched themselves into the glittering mayhem that is New Year Celebration time.

As the flurry of early January bookings starts to calm down, Brett Gable, Events Co-Ordinator on the team, took a few minutes to look back at 2019 and to anticipate what’s coming up in 2020.

“The rooftop garden, which Paul our Executive Head Chef masterminded, had a huge impact last year. It was so lovely to be able to offer our guests vegetables, salads, herbs and edible flowers which had been grown on the premises. I know Paul is planning to take the whole roof space this year to grow even more. Here on the team, it makes us proud to know that we are so sustainable.”

For 2020, one of the things the Events Team are really looking forward to is the new event room downstairs, which has been completely refurbished and renovated. As wedding bookings start to come in, and reservations for conferences, meetings and parties are written in the 2020 events diary, the team are anticipating another enjoyable and successful year doing what the VSC does best – offering all its guests a warm welcome, wonderful service and the very best of food and drink in a stunning venue.

On a more personal level, Brett is looking forward to his own wedding in April. No doubt it will be the best-organised celebration that ever there was!
