MARK FIELD

Operations Director

Mark oversees the day-to-day activities of the business at the VSC, he joined the venue in 2012. Mark has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry having trained as a chef before studying Hotel Management. He has worked at venues including: Hand Picked Hotels, Phyllis Court and the Carlton Club.

Best event you have attended?

My wedding.

Favourite drink?

It depends on the occasion, but you can’t beat a good pint.

Favourite restaurant?

Terroir on the Kleine Zalze wine estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Favourite Netflix show?

Last Chance U.

JOANNA LUNN

Event Sales Manager

Joanna proactively generates income from event and conference hire of the VSC’s space to support the Club’s charitable objectives. She joined the venue in 2018. Joanna has worked in events and hospitality for a number of years and her previous roles have included working as General Manager for Compass Group where she managed the restaurants and cafes at House of Fraser, Oxford Street, and Sales and Events Manager at Sydney Town Hall and Customs House, a heritage listed venue in the centre of Sydney, Australia.

Best event you have attended?

I would have to say a spectacular event at Sydney Opera house.   

Favourite drink?

A nice crisp Chardonnay.

Favourite restaurant?

Red Lantern Vietnamese, Sydney.

Favourite Netflix show?

Grace and Frankie.

PAUL MATTOCKS

Executive Chef

Paul is responsible for all catering services at the VSC. He joined the venue in 2008. Paul has a wealth of catering experience that began at army catering college resulting in 24 years working for the Armed Forces across the world. His other catering roles have included running his own catering business in Camden and experience at KP Waterloo Hotel, Cinnamon Club Westminster, Dorchester and Fifteen, Peppermint Bars and Deleware North Wembley.

Best event you have attended?

I experienced being a delegate at the Club on a management training course for a week.

Favourite drink?

Mojito, Sparkling Water, Moretti.

Favourite restaurant?

Restaurant La Chappelle Galvin Bros.

Favourite Netflix show?

Ozark.

KENNY MCBEAN

Food and Beverage Manager 

Kenny is the Food and Beverage Manager. He joined the VSC on the 6th of January 2020. Kenny used to live in Tarragona, Spain for the last year working for a restaurant chain called La Tagliatelia. Before that, Kenny spent the last fifteen years of his life living and working in London as a Food and Beverage Manager for Novotel, Ibis and Sarova hotels. He also worked for a year and a half as an Operations Manager for Holiday Inn.

Best event you have attended?

I was lucky enough to attend the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park in May 2016. My football team (Hibernian) had not won the trophy for 114 years. To be there when we finally won it (in extra time) was easily the best event I’ve ever been to.

Favourite drink?

Having lived in Tarragona, Spain for the last year, It’s a great place to indulge in my favourite drink, Rioja wine (red).

Favourite restaurant?

Portal 22, Valls, Spain. Great local and seasonal food, the two brothers who own and run the restaurant both worked at El Bulli.

Favourite Netflix show?

Not a massive TV person but Narcos had me hooked.
